Fraunhofer
Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS (FhP-AICOS), a research centre located in Porto, came about as a result of a partnership between the Fraunhofer Society, the Foundation for Science and Technology and the University of Porto.
FhP-AICOS' career has been marked by various institutional and commercial collaborations that have resulted in a vast network of active partners. With a team of around 80 researchers and a portfolio of clients from different business areas (health, agriculture, retail and energy), FhP-AICOS has consolidated competences in the areas of user-centred design, artificial intelligence (AI) and cyber-physical systems.
ISR
The ISR - Institute of Systems and Robotics, based at the University of Coimbra, a private non-profit research institution, has the general objective of creating a multidisciplinary research team of excellence, capable of carrying out cutting-edge research in relevant areas of science and technology, with a special emphasis on systems and robotics.
The ISR promotes advanced multidisciplinary R&D in the areas of Autonomous Mobile Robotics, Intelligent Transport Systems, Search and Rescue Robotics, Robotic Manipulation, Computer Vision, Medical Robotics, Assistive Technologies, Biomedical Engineering, Advanced Technologies for Industrial Automation and Intelligent Energy Systems.
INL
The INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, based in Braga, is an intergovernmental organisation legally constituted by the governments of Portugal and Spain, which operates in the field of micro and nanofabrication.
Equipped with advanced technical and scientific equipment, INL's clean room provides greater reproducibility and integration with industrial processes.
INL has established collaborations with business network partners (regional, national and international), and is the institution responsible for the national coordination of micro and nanofabrication (Micro&NanoFabs@PT), which involves 2 facilities equipped with a clean room (INL and INESC-MN) and the MEMS laboratory at the University of Minho. INL is also part of the European group EuroNanoLab, which is the European network of laboratories in the field of study.
INESC Microsistemas e Nanotecnologia
INESC Microsistemas e Nanotecnologias (INESC-MN), a private non-profit R&D institute, has a class 100/10 clean room with optical and electron beam lithography, which enables the manufacture of nanoscale devices. INESC-MN's activity is dedicated to cutting-edge research and development in strategic technological areas of micro- and nanotechnologies, as well as the application of these technologies in electronic, biological and biomedical devices.
INESC-MN supplies technology to Portuguese industry and international organisations through collaborative research, contract research, prototyping and consultancy.
