Project Scope

Alignment with European strategic priorities in digital technologies.

Pure basic research (without civil application) is not eligible.
Eligibility

Consortia composed of companies, universities, and research organizations.

Mandatory participation in projects submitted to the KDT Joint Undertaking.

German entities must submit an additional national application.
Funding

Non-repayable grants.

Funding rates vary depending on the type of entity and activity (up to 100% for certain research organizations).

Typical project duration: up to 4 years.
Application Process

Submission and evaluation at European level (KDT Joint Undertaking).

Upon approval, formal national application to BMBF.

European approval is a prerequisite for national funding.
Technical Management
Technical and administrative support is provided, among others, by VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH.
