Within the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026/2027, the call HORIZON-CL4-2026-01-MAT-PROD-01 – Advanced manufacturing for key products (IA) supports the development and deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies and machinery for the production of strategic, high-performance components and products in Europe.
This opportunity aims to strengthen European technological leadership in advanced manufacturing, increase industrial resilience, and reduce external dependencies, while simultaneously promoting resource efficiency, circularity, and the competitiveness of European industry.
Main objectives
-
Make advanced manufacturing technologies and equipment available in Europe for key and high-performance products;
-
Increase efficiency in the use of materials and energy;
-
Promote more circular production models, including the use of secondary raw materials, bio-based materials, and revalorised components;
-
Reduce dependence on critical raw materials and external supply chains;
-
Strengthen the competitiveness, productivity, and resilience of European industry.
Technological scope
Proposals should focus on advanced manufacturing technologies and machinery, including, but not limited to:
-
Photonics applied to advanced manufacturing;
-
Additive manufacturing and hybrid manufacturing (additive and subtractive);
-
Advanced joining technologies;
-
Polymer composite manufacturing;
-
Advanced technologies for surface treatment and structuring;
-
Manufacturing of components using lightweight materials;
-
In-line testing and quality control.
Where relevant to improve product performance and quality, the integration of innovative advanced materials (such as lightweight, functionalised, or self-healing materials) is encouraged, provided that materials development is not the main focus of the proposal.
Target audience
-
Industrial companies (SMEs and large enterprises);
-
Manufacturers and suppliers of manufacturing technologies and machinery;
-
R&D centres and science and technology organisations;
-
European consortia capable of developing and exploiting advanced manufacturing solutions.
Key information
-
Opening date: 6 January 2026
-
Submission deadline: 21 April 2026
