Eureka Xecs is an international collaboration programme focused on sustainable industrial innovation in the area of Electronic Components and Systems.
Like most of the Eureka Programme, it is industry-oriented and funded by the participating states, but promotes the creation of innovation ecosystems along the entire value chain of Electronic Components and Systems, integrating various actors such as large companies, SMEs, Research and Development entities and Universities.
Its operating model is based on annual calls for projects aligned with the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for Electronic Components and Systems (https://ecssria. eu), which is currently structured into Fundamental Technological Layers (such as Process, Equipment, Materials and Production Technologies; Components, Modules and Systems Integration; Embedded Systems), Inter-sector Technologies (such as Edge Computing and Artificial Intelligence; Connectivity, Architecture and Design Methods and Tools; Quality, Reliability, Security and Cybersecurity) and Application Areas (Mobility; Energy; Digital Industries; Health and Well-being; Agro-industry and Natural Resources; Digital Society).
It should be noted that this Strategic Agenda has received contributions from 3 private European industrial associations: Aeneas – which promotes Research, Development and Innovation in Electronic Systems and Components -; EPoSS – the European Technology Platform for the Integration of Intelligent Systems – and INSIDE – the European Technology Platform for Intelligent Digital Systems.
